The War on Drugs is a rock band out of Philadelphia whose 2011 release, Slave Ambient, is RAJ's undisputed pick for Album of the Year. If you are unenlightened, please click the link above and listen to a few of the album tracks and we think you'll agree that this album is an ambient/roots/psych/folk/shoegaze/arena rock masterpiece.

Now, the reason I consider this the perfect post for RAJ is that this piece of news peaks our interests in multiple ways. As mentioned, TWOD is responsible for both our album and song of the year (which I suppose makes them RAJ's Band of the Year, too). Jimmy Fallon is a pop culture icon who is growing more and more comfortable in his role as late night talk show host (plus, he was involved in what is perhaps the greatest comedy sketch of our generation). And ?uestlove is one of the best drummers of our generation, and a member of one of the best live acts in music today.
But the best part of this whole event, in my opinion, is the rather uncanny resemblance between Fallon and TWOD vocalist Adam Granduciel (especially when they stand next to one another at the end of the clip). We first noticed this when we saw TWOD live in Chicago last month, and immediately yearned to see Fallon impersonate Graduciel in a bit on his show. Jimmy, you missed your opportunity!
Perhaps if Granduciel had attained a level of fame similar to, say, Neil Young...
If I'm the only person who sees a resemblance here, I'll shut up: http://cache2.artprintimages.com/p/LRG/27/2759/PJ4TD00Z/art-print/dave-allocca-singer-eddie-vedder-of-rock-group-pearl-jam-performing.jpg
