Wes Anderson From Above, Quentin Tarantino From Belo

Slate's culture blog, Browbeat, has recently run a series of posts comparing the styles of directors Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino. While their influences are very different, Browbeat points out each director's predilection for a certain type of shot, coutesy of Youtube and Vimeo artist kogognada. While Anderson favors overhead shots in his films, Tarantino frequently uses shots looking up at his characters. Check out kogognada's compilations below.



While opinion varies widely on the respective filmographies of each director, it is indisputable that each has carefully cultivated a unique and unmistakeable visual style.
