For native Chicagoans and the hundreds of thousands of the rest of us who swarm here after graduating from a Big Ten school, the Empire and Luna carpet jingles are as ingrained in our mental iPod as "You Are My Sunshine" and the national anthem. So today's earth-shattering news of Empire's acquisition of Luna is surely the headline of the day here in the Windy City. Fortunately, it appears that the two iconic jingles will not be affected in the short-term.
