The class of NYC rock, The Walkmen, have dropped some info on the new album they recently finished recording. It's titled Heaven, and is due out on June 5 (the damn Brits get a day early, as always) on Fat Possum/Bella Union.
The album was recorded "in the woods" somewhere near Seattle with Phil Elk, who has worked with The Shins, Modest Mouse, and Fleet Foxes). Speaking of Fleet Foxes, frontman Robin Pecknold lended vocals to the track "No On Ever Sleeps". Can't say that heightens our anticipation much more, as we're not huge fans of the soft, introspective folksy music that FF deals in.
The band has also released a promo video. Check it below.
Tastefully done but kinda looks like whoever put it together just saw The Tree of Life. But hey, new Walkmen album!
